The CPS Field Information Pane |
(Learning and Defining CPS Tools) |
![]()
This embedded Help window
is typical to the CPS
in that it can be run in a pinned mode, an unpinned fly-out mode, and
even an undocked floating-window mode. What is most unique to this Field
Information Window is the dynamic connectivity from CPS Field to Field
Level online help system content.
The CPS Field Information Window has Many Aspects of Functionality:
By default
this window is in an unpinned fly-out mode. ![]()
(Unpin the pushpin to run this Field Information window in an on demand fly-out mode. once unpinned, for retrieval, hover-on or click-on the "Field Information" tab.)
This
window can be run embedded in the CPS window and pinned with the pushpin
icon. ![]()
(Pin the pushpin to embed this Field Information window as part of the CPS-user interface.)
This window can also be run in an undocked floating-window mode.
(Double-clicking on this Field Information window's title bar allows you to undock or float the window independently of the CPS window. Double-clicking the title bar again re-docks the window within the CPS.)
Once a codeplug is open, this Field Information window's topics are dynamically connected to the CPS-user interface with on-demand field-level online help system content.
(Clicking on a CPS field's control dynamically updates this window's content to the appropriate help content for the field. Double-clicking on a CPS field's title also dynamically updates this window's content to the appropriate help content for the field; this is true even when a CPS field is in a grayed-out condition, meaning that the field is currently not accessible for programming.)
If
completely closed, there are two ways to reopen the Field Information
Window.
(double-clicking on any field's title, or
from the CPS Menubar è
View è
Windows è
Field Information, uncheck "Hide".)
CPS field level help topics have an “Accessed Only” section explaining how to ungray the field (when applicable), and therefore allow CPS-user access to the field for programming.
Help topics that appear within this Field Information Window will have words and phrases that are linked to other help topics.
(When first hovering on a link, a “quick note” of information appears, and then clicking the link (when applicable) launches an External Help Window with a more detailed version of the “quick note”.)
In the Field Information window, clicking on a help topic’s title launches the Help’s External Window to that same help topic with a larger viewing area containing additional help tools.
